The delicious new eight-part comedy series JULIA, inspired by the extraordinary life of legendary chef Julia Child.

The series will premiere on Sunday, April 3 at 8.30pm AEST On Demand on FOXTEL.

Inspired by Child’s remarkable life and her long-running television series The French Chef, which pioneered the modern cooking show, the series features a stunning cast led by Sarah Lancashire (Happy Valley) in the title role and joined by David Hyde Pierce (Frasier) as Child’s husband, Franz Kranz (Homecoming), Bebe Neuwirth (Frasier), Fiona Glascott (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindewald) and Brittany Bradford (Broadway’s Bernhardt/Hamlet), with guest stars including Judith Light (Transparent) and Isabella Rossellini (Blue Velvet).

Through Julia’s life and her singular joie de vivre, the series explores a pivotal time in American history – the emergence of public television as a new social institution, feminism and the women’s movement, the nature of celebrity and America’s cultural evolution. At its heart, the series is a portrait of a loving marriage with an evolving and complicated power dynamic.

JULIA is produced by Lionsgate and 3 Arts Entertainment for HBO Max and is exclusive in Australia to the FOXTEL Group.

JULIA premieres with a special double episode on Sunday, April 3 at 8.30pm AEST On Demand on FOXTEL and on Fox Showcase.
