Back to the Rafters picks up the story six years since we last saw the Rafter family.

The new series, which is set to premiere on September 17, will see Dave and Julie create a new life in the country with youngest daughter Ruby, while the older Rafter children face new challenges and Grandpa Ted struggles to find his place.

Marais had been involved in pre-production for the series when mental health issues returned. Rafters was the 3rd Australian drama Marais was forced to withdraw from in the past 3 years.
