The attack took place around midnight with social media accounts the target
Followers of the 7 News Adelaide twitter account were shocked last night to discover profane messages posted in its news feed at around midnight.
The message, which was discovered by journalist Leo Puglisi, said:
“f*ck it, ya’ll can go back into lockdown, see if i care”
A follow-up message said:
“yo yo @keemstar, daddy yaris & wixy are here once again”
That message also appeared on the Yahoo Australia finance and Clean up Australia accounts.
The person messaged is a YouTuber who has 2.8m twitter followers and is followed by the official Patreon and HBO accounts.
Keemstar posted a screenshot of the message saying:
“Breaking Australia has fallen”
It appears the hack took place via TweetDeck, which is how much of Seven’s content is posted on Twitter.
By morning the tweets had been deleted. No doubt the hunt will be on to find out how the account was breached.
