This Sunday, October 13 Australian
comedy superstars will come together at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney for the No Laughing Matter stand-up
comedy gala to raise awareness for suicide prevention.
Hosted by Sammy J and Randy, the one-man and
one-puppet show, No Laughing
Matter will feature hilarious performances from some of the
best in Australian Comedy including Mikey Robins, Fiona O’Loughlin, Tom
Ballard, Claire Hooper, Tommy Little, and many more.
No Laughing Matter is a partnership
between The Comedy Channel and Suicide Prevention Australia aiming to raise
money and awareness for suicide prevention.
Suicide is a real and often hidden problem
with few people realising suicide is a bigger killer than road accidents or
skin cancer in Australia.
No Laughing Matter will be filmed
in front of a live audience to premiere on The Comedy Channel Friday,
November 1 at 9.30pm with the broadcast including a call to action for
viewers to donate online at nolaughingmatter.org.au.
The full line-up of comedians includes: Sammy J and Randy, Mikey Robins, Fiona O’Loughlin, Tom Ballard, Claire Hooper, Joel Creasy, Tommy Little, Neel Kolhatkar, Heath Franklin, Luke
Heggie, Tommy Dean, Kevin Kropinyeri, Ronny Chieng, Smart Casual, Michael
Workman, Ciel and
Felicity Ward.
All proceeds raised from the event will go to
supporting the National Coalition for Suicide Prevention made up from over 25
partners including beyondblue, Black Dog Institute, headspace, Lifeline,
R U OK?, and many other organisations.
