Nine’s Upfront event yesterday introduced a lineup of both familiar favorites such as Married at First Sight and The Block, plus newcomers for 2025 including The Floor and The Golden Bachelor, but we have the details on which shows will be returning and which will not.

Notably, Blood On The Tracks: The Platform Killer which was announced at Nine’s Upfronts in 2023 due this year, was later announced as being delayed to 2025 and has now been scrapped due to financing issues.

A 9 Network Spokesperson confirming to TV Blackbox:

“It’s with regret that Blood On The Tracks: The Platform Killer won’t go ahead due to financing”.

The cancellation of Blood On The Tracks is a setback for Channel 9’s drama slate, which has only aired Human Error in 2024, which recently wrapped a standout first season with no word yet on its return for a second.

For 2025, the network is so far relying on acquired New Zealand drama series, with Madam, starring Rachel Griffiths, set to air, and A Remarkable Place to Die, featuring Rebecca Gibney, premiering this year, both announced yesterday.

The Network further confirmed that staple travel series Getaway, an omission at yesterday’s Upfront event, will return in 2025.

Further, a series first announced at their Upfronts in 2022, Australia’s Most Identical, will still come into the schedule at some point.

When pressed on other series not included in the Upfront announcements, including The Summit, Under Investigation with Liz Hayes, Do You Want to Live Forever?, Food Stars and Jeopardy! Australia, a Spokesperson said:

“We have a number of shows part of our programming slate that currently aren’t scheduled in 2025”.

  1. Of course Getaway will be back because it is financed by a cruise company which sponsors it and covers the production costs. And as for The Block, will this be the 21st or 22nd season? It is showing its age badly and this season was as stale as last year’s bread and Scott Cam is looking very old and haggard
