Alison Hurbert-Burns, Executive Director of Entertainment Content & Commissioner at Foxtel Group, will depart the company at the end of February, bringing an end to her impactful tenure overseeing the company’s original content and the BINGE streaming platform.

Hurbert-Burns played a key role in shaping Foxtel’s entertainment strategy, overseeing acclaimed BINGE Originals such as Colin From Accounts, Love Me, and the feature film How to Make Gravy, as well as commissioning other notable projects like The Twelve and High Country.

The decision to step back was reportedly made last year, with the timing of the departure coinciding with the ongoing sale of Foxtel to DAZN, which was announced in late December and is set to reshape the company’s future direction.

In an email to staff today from Foxtel Retail and Hubbl CEO Hilary Perchard and Foxtel Group CEO Patrick Delaney, seen by TV Blackbox, Hurbert-Burns was praised for her outstanding contribution to the business, with her leadership credited for elevating BINGE and driving the success of acclaimed Australian Originals.

“Alison’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping Foxtel Group’s entertainment strategy, and her vision and commitment have played a pivotal role in the success of BINGE and our original content.”

Perchard and Delaney said in the email.

In the wake of Hurbert-Burns’ departure, Foxtel Group has announced key leadership changes within its entertainment division. Wendy Moore has been appointed Executive Director – Entertainment Content, expanding her role to include oversight of both scripted and unscripted originals, alongside her current responsibilities. Moore will execute the company’s entertainment content strategy and drive audience engagement across all platforms.

Stephanie Quinn has been promoted to Executive Director – Content & Commercial Partnerships, where she will lead Foxtel Group’s content partnership strategy, focusing on growth, innovation, and key studio relationships. Both Moore and Quinn will be supported by teams reporting to them, with Moore backed by Lana Greenhalgh, Howard Myers Rifai, and Chris Hearn, and Quinn working closely with Fleur Fahey and her team.

Additionally, Jeevan Haikerwal will transition to the Group Strategy team, reporting to Will Loh.

Hurbert-Burns joined Foxtel Group in 2019, tasked with reshaping the company’s entertainment content strategy and securing key studio partnerships ahead of the launch of streaming platform BINGE, which she grew to over 1.5 million subscribers.
