In some major news today, Foxtel has confirmed their decision not to renew its involvement with Gogglebox Australia for 2025.
While the show will continue to air on Network 10, long-time fan favorites the Silbery family revealed via Instagram earlier today that they will not return for the new season, marking the end of their nine-year journey on the program.
Foxtel’s recent Upfront presentation made no mention of Gogglebox Australia returning to the broadcaster in 2025, a detail that went largely unnoticed until now.
In the post, shared on Instagram today, Isabelle Silbery said:
It’s with a very heavy heart to announce that Mum, Ruby and I will not be returning to Gogglebox in 2025 🥺💔
Foxtel have decided not to renew our beloved show and although the show will continue on Channel 10, the three of us have not been included in its new form.
9 years ago, I saw an opportunity to showcase real women’s voices across multi generations. Baby Ruby filling in for Emmie in recent seasons made it feel full circle. 🥰
It has been an absolute pleasure sharing our lounge rooms with you all and cannot thank you enough for the love and support.
It might be the end of an era but it’s also an opportunity for new exciting beginnings… ✨
A Foxtel Group Spokesperson confirmed the news to TV Blackbox saying:
“The TV show about watching people watch TV. Nobody believed in it, but Foxtel did.”
“Since 2015 we have broadcast Gogglebox Australia into our lounge rooms – putting a mirror not only up to Australian television but Australian culture, humour and entertainment. We have laughed, cried and shared many iconic moments together alongside the Gogglebox households.”
“As Gogglebox Australia moves onto its next era, we want to thank our partners at Endemol-Shine Australia and every single family that opened their houses to take part in this wonderful adventure.”
A Network 10 Spokesperson added:
“Next year, there’s only one place to watch Australia’s favourite couch critics. Grab the popcorn and get cosy on the couch, because in 2025 Gogglebox Australia will air exclusively on 10 and 10 Play.”
Following Isabelle’ Silbery’s announcement post, her Gogglebox castmates expressed their sadness, with Anastasia Katselas commenting, “No way I’m heartbroken. Why?“, Matty Fahd saying, “What an innings! We will miss you all, thanks for all the laughs and cries 💔”, and Adam Densten adding, “Four absolute Queens“.

Wow what bad choice 10 have made. I don’t understand it. There are others that I would of moved off the show and not the Silburys. Should not be surprised though.
