Tonight, Channel Seven is set to welcome the electrifying new season of The Voice at 7:00 pm, where over 70 talented artists are ready to captivate the audience and the coaches with their vocal prowess.

The stakes are high, and the artists are eager to turn as many chairs as possible.

The new season is especially exciting, as it marks the debut of the global star Jason Derulo as a coach. He joins the returning coaches: UK superstar Rita Ora, singer-songwriter Guy Sebastian, and singer-actress Jessica Mauboy.

With the addition of Derulo, there’s a fresh surge of rivalry among the coaches who are all set on a mission to discover Australia’s next singing sensation.

The much-anticipated season commences with the blind auditions. Sonia Kruger, the host of the show, greets the artists before they step on stage to charm the superstar coaches and prompt them to turn their iconic red chairs. It’s a fierce competition, with the coaches’ teams limited to only 12 spots each.

The stage is a battlefield during the auditions, and if an artist manages to turn more than one chair, the coaches engage in a pitch to convince the artist to join their team. The ultimate decision, however, lies with the artist.

This season features a diverse range of artists.

From a former competitive rower and now full-time music student, Etienne Steven, to country music legends The Bushwackers.

There’s the carpenter Nick Cunningham who’s inspired by the music scene in Byron Bay, and TikTok star Sean Millis who has formed an unbreakable bond with his nurses through his battle with a rare illness, Hunter Syndrome.

The show features several other inspiring contestants like youth worker David Aumua, executive assistant Shanae Watson, and more.

They all bring unique stories and talents to the stage, ready to charm the coaches and viewers alike.

The drama heightens this season with the return of the block button. Each coach possesses the power to block a rival coach from acquiring an artist they’ve turned a chair for. The coaches can use their two blocks at any point during a Blind Audition, potentially disrupting the pitches of their rivals.

Following the blind auditions, the artists face The Callbacks, a challenging round that narrows the teams from 12 to eight. The Battles and the Semi-Finals further tighten the competition, setting the stage for the Grand Finale where Australia will crown The Voice 2023 champion.

The artists and coaches are ready, the stage is set.

The new season of The Voice returns tonight, Sunday, August 6, at 7:00 pm on Channel Seven and 7plus.
