Footy Classified is set to make a big return in 2025 with a complete overhaul, introducing a fresh lineup and expanded schedule.

The show will now air twice a week, with a new Monday night panel featuring Sam McClure, Matthew Lloyd, Jimmy Bartel, and Damian Barrett. On Tuesday nights, Eddie McGuire, James Hird, and Rory Sloane will lead the conversation.

With the AFL season fast approaching, Footy Classified promises to cover all the biggest stories, off-season developments, and key insights from across the league.

Footy Classified is shaking things up in 2025 with a fresh lineup and a new time slot, delivering all the biggest stories, boldest takes and inside mail straight from the heart of the AFL world every Monday and Tuesday night on Channel 9 and 9Now. 

Monday nights will be led by one of the sharpest newsbreakers in the game, Sam McClure. Joining him on the panel are fan-favourites and show veterans Matthew Lloyd and Damian Barrett, plus 3AW’s Wide World of Sports host Jimmy Bartel, ensuring every program is packed with hard-hitting analysis, expert insights and big opinions.

Meanwhile, Footy Classified’s second weekly program moves to Tuesday night with a powerhouse panel taking the reins – featuring Eddie McGuire alongside new recruits James Hird and Rory Sloane, plus 9News Chief Football Reporter Tom Morris is live from the AFL launch in Sydney this week. 

Footy Classified will cut through the fallout from an off-season for the ages that saw high-profile departures at Melbourne and Carlton, a new succession plan at Port Adelaide, and a change of leadership at Sydney. Plus, injuries are biting the Western Bulldogs, and the AFL’s 19th team, the Tasmania Devils, are getting set to join the competition in 2028. The panels will leave no stone unturned in tackling the biggest headlines shaping the season ahead.

A legend of the game, James Hird makes his return to the 9Network this year, bringing a wealth of football knowledge from his days as an Essendon premiership captain, Brownlow Medallist and coach. Having built a strong media presence with his strategic insights, Hird’s addition to Footy Classified is set to shake things up in a big way.
