Saturday May 21 – Election 2022: Australia Decides

Sky News’ Election Day coverage begins at 6am live with Jaynie Seal and Tim Gilbert for Australia Decides: Election Breakfast.

At 9am Annelise Nielsen joins Peter Stefanovic from the Sky News Centre in Sydney for Australia Decides: Election Day Live to bring you all the breaking news before Ashleigh Gillon takes the desk at 2pm, crossing to Sky News reporters around the country to examine the critical contests that could determine the poll result.

From 5pm Australia Decides: Election Night Live anchored by leading political journalist and Sky News Chief News Anchor Kieran Gilbert gets underway featuring the best line-up of political commentators with unmatched insights into the machinations of Australian politics.

Joining Sky News exclusively on the election night panel; Sky News Host, Political Commentator and former chief of staff to Prime Minister Tony Abbott, Peta Credlin, Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell, Sky News Political Commentator and former Labor Cabinet Minister in the Hawke-Keating Governments, Graham Richardson, Nationals Senate Leader and Emergency Management Minister, Bridget McKenzie, Queensland Liberal National Party Senator James McGrath, outgoing Federal Labor MP for the NSW mining seat of Hunter, Joel Fitzgibbon, and Queensland Labor Senator and Shadow Northern Australia and Queensland Resources Minister, Murray Watt.

Joining the panel on the night will be Sky News Chief Election Analyst Tom Connell who will call the seats as they fall with the most up to date results. He will break down the data as the vote counting gets underway to provide viewers with a deeper understanding of the election results.

Sky News Anchors Paul Murray and Laura Jayes will be live at Liberal HQ throughout the night. Sky News Anchor Chris Kenny will be live from Labor HQ and will be joined by Deputy Lord Mayor of Melbourne and former advisor to Prime Minister Julia Gillard, Nicholas Reece.

Sky News’ experienced contributors will join the coverage from across Australia – including analysis from former Labor Cabinet Minister in the Rudd-Gillard Governments, Stephen Conroy and former Victorian Liberal Party President, Michael Kroger.

Sky News Queensland Editor Peter Gleeson will be joined by the Leader of the United Australia Party Clive Palmer, live and exclusive, on how his party has performed after its significant spend.

Sunday May 22 – Election 2022: Australia Decides

As the results roll in, Sky News election coverage begins on Sunday at 7am, Election 2022: Australia’s Verdict with Kieran Gilbert, Peta Credlin, Andrew Clennell, Laura Jayes, Chris Kenny, Ashleigh Gillon, Sharri Markson, Nicholas Reece, Joel Fitzgibbon, Liberal Senator and Financial Services Minister Jane Hume, plus senior politicians and party insiders. They will dissect the winners and losers from Election 2022, and what it all means for Australia for the next three years.

At 9am Outsidershosts Rowan Dean, Rita Panahi and James Morrowrecap Election 2022 with their unique take on the key moments, triumphs and failures, before Ross Greenwood at 11am for Business Weekend examines the reaction across the financial and business markets.

From midday Election 2022: Australia’s Verdict continues with Annelise Nielsen and Peter Stefanovic on the desk for live coverage on the Election results and the ramifications for Australian politics and the public. 

At 3pm Kieran Gilbert, Andrew Clennell and Ashleigh Gillon return for the latest update from counting across key seats before Chris Smith Tonight at 6pm, followed by Sharri at 7pm. Then at 8pm a bumper two-hour special edition of Paul Murray Live.
