It’s the most anticipated event in recent TV history – the concluding season of Game of Thrones

Okay, we can hardly believe that we’re finally able to write these words but here we go: Game of Thrones returns this week!

Yes, after a punishing wait since the last outing wrapped up in 2017, it’s time to see what season eight of this fantasy drama has in store. It’s the concluding season so this is it – over six episodes we’ll finally (hopefully) see who earns the right to sit on the Iron Throne once and for all and we can’t wait. The world will be watching – so don’t be left behind.

There’s more for GoT fans as well. James Mathison and Stephanie Bendixsen will now present Thrones 360: LIVE. After recapping previous seasons during the lead up, our superfans will now present a live aftershow, looking at each episode – joined by celebrities and other devotees. Also, the popular British aftershow Thronecast, hosted by Sue Perkins, returns. So don’t say there’s not enough chances to dissect all things Westeros!

With Easter commencing at the end of the week, there’s also plenty to keep you entertained over the break. The wait is finally over! After seven enthralling seasons, the final six episodes of the epic saga are set to blow fans’ minds. While the script remains under lock and key, one thing’s for sure: the battle for the Iron Throne is only just getting started. Will Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) emerge victorious? Perhaps it will be Jon Snow (Kit Harington)? The entire world will be watching to find out.

Join hosts – and self-confessed Game of Thrones fanatics – James Mathison and Stephanie Bendixsen as they break down every second of action from tonight’s season eight premiere and speculate about what it all means for our favourite Westerosi. Each week some special guest stars will join them in dissecting every moment of what we’ve just witnessed.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 25 years since hapless Charles (Hugh Grant) fell head over heels for American beauty Carrie (Andie MacDowell) in this classic British rom-com. In celebration, relive every moment with a special screening sure to warm even the coldest of hearts.


Attenborough: Conquest of the Skies – Animal Planet, 7.30pm

Thanks to advancements in CGI and high-resolution filming techniques, Sir David Attenborough uncovers the fascinating 300-million-year-old story of how flying animals evolved.

He’s the superhero who made a big spash at the box office – Jason Momoa amazes in Aquaman

One of the top-grossing films of 2018, this action-packed adventure stars Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) as Arthur Curry, heir to the underwater kingdom Atlantis, who must step forward to placate opposing forces. With eye-popping visual effects and an all-star cast including Nicole Kidman and Amber Heard, expect a rollicking good time in the deep.

Fancy a double dose of reality-show devotee Andy Cohen’s funny takes on some fan faves? Then pop the rosé, as he’s about to delve into the recent seasons of two beloved series. First he’ll check in on the ups and downs of Vanderpump Rules, and then straight after at 2pm he’ll look at those Real Housewives of Atlanta and see which moments made him laugh or yell!


Hold the Sunset – UKTV, 8.30pm

Edith (Alison Steadman) is an elderly widow who dreams of an idyllic retirement on a sunny Mediterranean island with her long-time suitor Phil (John Cleese). However plans go awry when Edith’s 50-year-old son Roger  (Jason Watkins) moves back home in the midst of a breakdown. With stars Steadman and Cleese at the helm, this series is a real charmer.


Frankie Drake Mysteries, s2 – 13th STREET, 8.30pm

Lauren Lee Smith (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) returns as the titular

private detective who runs her own agency during the Roaring Twenties – cleverly subverting the era’s attitudes towards women as a way to get the job done. In this first episode, her team investigates a kidnapping gone wrong at the Palais Royale. Can they defy expectations and solve the mystery?


Overboard – Premiere Movies, 8.30pm

A remake on the 1987 classic with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, this version features a role-reversal twist. When snooty Leonardo (Eugenio Derbez) falls off his yacht and suffers memory loss, his disgruntled employee Kate (Anna Faris) convinces him they are married and takes revenge. However, falling in love was never part of her plan…

Animal lovers, a fresh episode of The Secret Life of the Zoo takes you behind the scenes


World Snooker Championship – Eurosport, LIVE from 7pm

Snooker’s most important event kicks off today, with the top players putting their technique, immaculate break-building and tactical astuteness to the test. Held in Sheffield, England over 17 days, all eyes will be on defending champion Mark Williams to see if he can take home the coveted trophy for a fourth time.


2019 Super Rugby Championship – FOX SPORTS, LIVE from 5pm

We’ve just tipped over into the second half of the Super Rugby Championship season, and things are heating up. Today two games are yours for the taking. Betrayed, s2 – TLC, 8.30pm

This chilling real-crime docuseries returns. Tonight’s episode titled Hell on Wheels, features the 2002 brutal stabbing of 41-year-old motorcycle-riding single mum Diane Snellen in her home in Georgetown, Kentucky. With no sign of a break-in investigators suspected it was someone she knew.


The Secret Life of the Zoo, s3 – Animal Planet, 8.30pm

This loveable documentary series looks at the menagerie of residents at England’s Chester Zoo as they go about their daily lives. As the zookeepers work hard to do their best for the animals, the hidden cameras reveal blossoming relationships and curious behaviours from all corners of the zoo.

 Some sequels are well worth the wait – Incredibles 2 brings this fierce family back to our screens!


Incredibles 2 – Disney Movies, 6.30pm

Everyone’s favourite superhero family returns after a 14 year hiatus – this time Elastigirl (voiced by Holly Hunter) is in the limelight, taking on a high-profile crime-fighting mission whilst Mr Incredible (Bob Parr) juggles things at home with the kids. Never a dull moment in this adventurous sequel, it’s the perfect movie for both young and (not so) old.


Jesus: His Life – HISTORY, 8.30pm

This compelling eight-part docuseries unearths the dramatic life of Jesus Christ, with each episode told through the eyes of those closest to him. His story is imparted through a combination of scripted drama and documentary-style interviews with historians and faith leaders.


Holmes & Watson – Store

Will Ferrell and John C Reilly clearly relish playing legendary detective Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson. Slapstick and silliness provide ample laugh-out-loud moments, making for a fun Easter Sunday movie. Also stars Rebecca Hall, Rob Brydon, Steve Coogan and Ralph Fiennes.


ATP Tour Masters 1000: Monte Carlo – ESPN, LIVE from 10.30pm

A player and fan favourite tournament thanks to its marvellous Monaco location, it’s the third ATP1000 event for the year (and the first to be played on clay) between the sport’s top men. See who comes out on top with tonight’s live final.


NCIS: New Orleans, s2 – TVH!TS, 6.30pm

Delve into NCIS: New Orleans’ second season with new recruit Sonja Percy (Shalita Grant) adjusting to her NCIS role alongside special agents Pride (Scott Bakula), LaSalle (Lucas Black) and Brody (Zoe McLellan). The hand-picked unit is thrown into action when a military convoy is ambushed and they must quickly move to stop another attack before it’s too late.
