Nine Network has formally initiated the casting process for the 20th season of The Block, slated for 2024.
The long-standing home renovation show continues to dominate television ratings, reaffirming its status as a ratings behemoth for the network.
The upcoming season is tipped to be filmed in Daylesford, a favoured weekend getaway location situated northwest of Melbourne. The official location is expected to be confirmed today at the networks Upfronts event.
Casting calls are actively seeking pairs who believe they’re up to the gruelling challenges that host Scott Cam will undoubtedly present. The nature of these tasks is sure to test the capabilities of even the most seasoned home renovators.
The selected duos will be required to commit to a 12-week filming schedule, commencing in late February 2024. The precise dates will be specified nearer the time of production.
Prospective contestants should be aware that other employment is off-limits during the filming period. Hence, participants will need to free their calendars for the entirety of the shoot.
Although having prior home renovation experience would be advantageous, it is not a prerequisite for both team members. Nine is encouraging applications from all corners of Australia, making it a nationwide quest for talent.
Successful candidates will receive a modest weekly remuneration to assist with living costs and expenses during the shoot. This remuneration aims to alleviate some of the financial pressures that may arise due to the work hiatus.
