ANDREW DENTON’S INTERVIEW: JADE HAMEISTER
Two people, two chairs, one conversation, no gimmicks
Most teenagers are pretty happy just to survive their Year 12 exams, but Melbourne’s Jade Hameister had her sights set on bigger things.
Well before her 18th birthday, she became the youngest person ever to complete what’s known as “The Three Poles”, skiing to the North Pole, the South Pole and across the Greenland Ice Cap, braving temperatures below minus 50, mortal danger, constant pain and, toughest of all, having to share a tent with her Dad.
The indefatigable Jade has pitted herself against some of the toughest conditions on the planet and come up smiling. And now, after making it back in one piece, she has something to tell us about how to live our lives
