Foxtel appears to have found a replacement for Shaynna Blaze on Selling Houses Australia, and the new recruit comes from within.
Media Diary in The Australian reports the General Manager of Foxtel’s Lifestyle channels, Wendy Moore is set to be named as the new interior designer on the program, replacing original host Shaynna Blaze.
It’s a move that will see Moore return to our TV screens for the first time since she departed her judging role on Channel 7’s House Rules. Moore has been the general manager of Foxtel’s Lifestyle brands since 2019. Previously she had spent 12 years at Pacific Magazines, including three as General Manager of all Home and Food brands at Pacific Magazines.
Blaze recently confirmed her departure from the top-rating lifestyle series after thirteen seasons.
The decision by Blaze to depart the popular series comes after original co-star Charlie Albone made the decision to move to Better Homes and Garden’s on Seven last year.
Shaynna has been part of the “Selling Houses” team since it first launched in 2008, working alongside real estate expert Andrew Winter and landscape designer Charlie Albone, to undertake stunning makeovers of unsellable properties across Australia.
Production is set to commence mid year on season 14 of Selling Houses Australia with Winter set to remain as the host of the series. Foxtel is yet to confirm a replacement for Albone.
Selling Houses Australia has been on a production break since 2019. Season 14 will see the format move to a new production team at Warner Bros as part of a broader local production deal, the series was previously produced by Beyond International
Shaynna Blaze said:
“This is such a big decision for me, and one that has not come lightly. I had hoped to be able to continue with Selling Houses Australia while honouring my existing business commitments to clients and working on some exciting personal projects, but once the timing of the production schedule was confirmed, unfortunately trying to juggle everything was going to be too much of a stretch.
Selling Houses has led me to where I am today, and I owe both the show and Foxtel a huge debt of gratitude.”
