Presenters and viewers were very concerned when an ABC reporter had an episode live on air

Host Joe O’Brien quickly took over the live cross

A reporter on the ABC News channel has had to stop mid-report as he started stuttering over his words.

Michael Rennie was reporting live from outside JBS beef processing plant in Ipswich when the incident happened.

While getting off to a strong start, the reporter started taking long breaths between each word. Host Joe O’Brien quickly jumped in and ended the report.

A shot taken of Rennie showed him looking dazed and licking his lip before covering his face with his hand.

O’Brien, visibly concerned, gave directions for the cameraman to check on the reporter and asked for bosses to be made aware.

Rennie took to twitter shortly after saying he was dehydrated.
