Comedian CELIA PACQUOLA features in the season return of Who Do You Think You Are?

Who Do You Think You Are? returns for its twelfth season this week on SBS.

This time around, one participant uncovers a mysterious family fortune, while another learns the identity of his father, who he’s never known.

In the season premiere episode, comedian Celia Pacquola digs into her beloved mum’s family, she finds her three times Scottish great grandfather, John Rae, was Sydney’s first Town Clerk, and his talent as a landscape painter was of historic significance.

She learns of the romance and tragedy of John Rae’s life in Sydney, and how that spurs him on to create a lasting legacy for future generations of Australians.

Season twelve will also feature Malcolm Turnbull, Denise Drysdale, Jeff Fatt (The Wiggles) and Uncle Jack Charles join the cast of the much-loved genealogy series, which takes well-known personalities on a revealing journey into their past, sharing their emotion and surprise as they uncover stories at the heart of their family history.

The twelfth season also features Australian television stars Grant Denyer, Chris Bath and Natalie Bassingthwaighte.

One discovers his ancestors managed to flourish in Australia despite immense discrimination as a result of the White Australia Policy, and a famous performer lights set off to discover where their love of the arts originated.

Who Do You Think You Are? returns Tuesday, 8 June at 7.30pm on SBS and On Demand (8 Parts)
