Big Brother’s 2025 revival on Network 10 may include a homecoming to its former site, with a newly posted crewing call hinting at a possible Queensland based production.
Production company Endemol Shine Australia on Tuesday sought Queensland-based post-production staff for the show, specifying applicants must be local and available to work on-site for the return of the iconic reality series.
The crewing notice shared online, which calls for Editors and Post Producers for the new season, states:
“Endemol Shine Australia is looking for Queensland-based post production crew available to work on-site for the return of BIG BROTHER.”
While no filming location has been confirmed, the emphasis on local hires has reignited chatter about a potential return to Queensland, where the show was famously produced during its original Network 10 run from 2001 – 2008.
A Dreamworld Revival?
The show’s iconic house and auditorium, once nestled adjacent to the theme park, were demolished years ago, and parts of the land have since been repurposed.
However, Dreamworld’s sprawling footprint and existing infrastructure could still make it a viable candidate for a modern reboot.
A deal with the park would be a symbolic nod to the show’s legacy, though producers may opt for a new Queensland based site altogether.
Network 10 has remained tight-lipped, not responding to TV Blackbox’s enquiries at the time of publication about the location potentially returning to Queensland for the 2025 series.

Back to Basics
When Paramount Australia announced Big Brother’s surprise return at its 2024 upfronts, it promised a revival of the show’s “traditional format,” including live nominations and unfiltered strategy—a format TV Blackbox first tipped could return this year in our January 2024 exclusive reporting.
This back-to-basics approach marks a stark contrast to the more produced iterations that aired on Nine (2012–2014) and Seven (2020–2023).
New host Mel Tracina (The Cheap Seats, Nova radio) will helm the revived series, which we understand is set to premiere later this year in early November.
Seven’s recent five-season stint, which concluded in 2023, leaned heavily into twists and celebrity editions, while Nine’s short-lived revival struggled to recapture the original magic of the original.
10’s return to the franchise—23 years after it debuted—is sure to bank on nostalgia, making a potential Queensland homecoming all the more fitting.
Network 10 was approached for comment about this story.
Endemol Shine Australia is already hiring QLD-based Post Producers for Big Brother 2025 the contracts run early Nov to early Dec 25. But the real question is… why? This show is ancient. Who’s still watching?
Cool..
Is the Great Mike Goldman going to be a part of Big Brother in any way in 2025.??
Cool..
Hi Kyle or Rob.
Is the Great Mike Goldman going to be a part of Big Brother in any way in 2025.??
Or even Gretel Killeen.??
Thanks!
It’s possible they may bring back Mike if it’s headed back to Queensland and he’s available, but we don’t have any knowledge of this just yet. Re Gretel, highly unlikely as Mel Tracina has already been announced as host – but you can see Gretel and daughter Epiphany on the upcoming season of The Amazing Race later this year.
Thank You Kyle..
Awesome, would be good if Gretel can do something online like Uncut/Confidential. And hoping Mike does the Friday Night Games Live & UpLate.!
Didn’t know, thanks! will have to check out The Amazing Race..
