Australia’s Boomers and Opals will clash with New Zealand’s Tall Blacks and Tall Ferns in a highly anticipated three-game basketball series this May.

The Trans-Tasman Throwdown will air live and free on the Nine Network over the 5 days in May, offering fans a front-row seat to all the action for all 9 games.

BOOMERS AND OPALS IN TRANS-TASMAN THROWDOWN V NEW ZEALAND ON THE 9NETWORK AND 9NOW

Get ready for a classic Trans-Tasman Throwdown when Australia and New Zealand clash on court in three basketball internationals live and free on the 9Network or to stream on 9Now from May 7 to 11.

The Aussie Boomers, Seven Consulting Opals, New Zealand’s Tall Blacks and 2Degrees Tall Ferns will clash in back-to-back fixtures across a three game series played in Adelaide (May 7), Sunshine Coast (May 9) and Hamilton (May 11).

On top of a guaranteed re-ignition of a historic rivalry, intensity will be heightened as Australia and New Zealand prepare for the FIBA Asia Cup tournaments later this year. 

Nine Wide World of Sports Head of Partnerships and Strategy, Simon Fordham, said:

“The Boomers and Opals always provide box office viewing for Aussie sports fans and the Trans-Tasman Throwdown series against New Zealand should be no different.
