Netflix has overnight confirmed the new reality series The Golden Ticket, inspired by the whimsical and unpredictable universe of Wonka.
Based on Roald Dahl’s 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, contestants will face thrilling challenges for a chance to win a life-changing prize, however casting is unfortunately only open to U.S. residents.
The new series is set to be produced by Australia’s Eureka Productions, which has offices in both Los Angeles and Sydney, The Golden Ticket follows in the footsteps of other Eureka projects for Netflix, including the recent reboot of The Mole.
This announcement comes after Eureka revealed back in January the launch of Eureka Studios, a new division dedicated to developing original content for global audiences. Led by co-founders Chris Culvenor and Paul Franklin, the division aims to create both unscripted and scripted formats as part of a three-year deal with Fremantle.

In The Golden Ticket, competitors will navigate a series of intense games, hoping to secure one of the coveted “golden tickets” that will lead them to the grand prize. The series promises a mix of strategy, physical challenges, and high-stakes drama designed to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
Netflix has teased that the show will offer a fresh take on the reality competition genre, ensuring audiences remain captivated at every turn.
In addition to The Golden Ticket, Eureka is behind other major projects, including Farmer Wants a Wife, returning to Seven after Easter, the Aussie adaptation of the U.S. hit The Floor hosted by Rodger Corser, set to premiere on Nine soon, and the upcoming season of The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition, currently filming for Network 10.
