On last night’s episode of Married at First Sight, the Dinner Party served up more than just cocktails—it was a night of heartbreak, frustration, and some seriously awkward moments.

Beth found herself stuck in an endless loop of vague answers from Teejay, while Jacqui arrived ready for a showdown with Ryan.

But instead of an apology, she got the coldest breakup of the season.

From Nine:

After returning from Homestays, there’s plenty to reflect on as the couples get ready for the seventh Dinner Party of the Experiment.

While some couples are returning to Sydney on a high, Beth is confused after her husband Teejay spent their homestay in Brisbane dodging questions about their relationship post-Experiment.

Also at odds after Homestays are Jacqui and Ryan, who are getting ready separately for the first time after a lunch with Ryan’s friends escalated into a heated argument. Jacqui is determined to get an apology from Ryan for failing to defend her, but Ryan has no intention of reconciling and is gearing up to share an unfiltered look at their relationship.

At the Cocktail Party, the mood is initially light as the first four couples—Awhina and Adrian, Rhi and Jeff, Jamie and Dave, and Carina and Paul—all celebrate their successful Homestays. When Beth and Teejay arrive, the mood shifts. Despite walking in together, it’s soon apparent their Homestay failed to bring them closer.

Jacqui arrives solo and tries to rally the group with her recount of lunch with Ryan’s friends, but her story falls flat, and the group is sceptical of her version of events.

When Ryan arrives, Jacqui immediately begins her campaign for an apology. As the group sits down for dinner, she attempts to pull Ryan aside for a private conversation but soon learns he would rather discuss their Homestay publicly. As Ryan holds court at the table, Jacqui’s attempts to deny his version of events and unwillingness to take accountability cause the group to side with him.

Beth recounts her time on Homestays for the group, who, like her, are confused about Teejay’s intentions for life post-Experiment. Frustrated by his refusal to answer yes-or-no questions and overuse of platitudes, the group plays a drinking game to pass the time.

Frustrated by Teejay’s refusal to give a clear answer, Beth leaves the table. When Teejay joins her, she shares her dilemma—she doesn’t want to leave the Experiment, but she also doesn’t want to write “stay” at the Commitment Ceremony if Teejay wants to leave. He insists he is still confused about his feelings and asks for more time to decide.

As they share a hug and return to the table, Beth privately speculates that Teejay may be open to staying.

At the table, Jacqui becomes alarmed at Ryan’s cold demeanour and makes another push for a private conversation. Away from the group, she makes a final attempt to explain her position, which only triggers another argument.

Unable to contain his frustration, Ryan tells Jacqui point blank that he is unhappy in their relationship and no longer wants to continue in the Experiment.

In tears, Jacqui desperately argues to change his mind, but Ryan is unmoved.
