DISCOVER THE MUST DO EXPERIENCES ALONG THE PACIFIC COAST WAY
This week My Way is hitting the road along the Pacific Coast Way, with unforgettable thrills, stunning landscapes and heartwarming local stories, Sunday at 5.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
In Cape Hillsborough, wildlife expert Murray Gibbs offers extraordinary beach tours where visitors can see kangaroos and wallabies feeding on mangrove seeds and seaweed at sunrise. As one of only five spots in Australia to see kangaroos on the beach, Murray’s world famous tours provide a heartwarming adventure, connecting people with the natural beauty of the region.
Just down the road, Airlie Beach locals Julie and Asher Telford take visitors on exhilarating jet boat rides around Australia’s beautiful Whitsunday Islands with Red Cat Adventures. The couple met and fell in love, before creating their dream tourism business that reflects their shared passion for adventure. Their custom-built boats offer thrilling day trips to landmarks like Whitehaven Beach and snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef. And despite their success, family and community remain at the heart of everything they do.
Off the coast of Townsville, the Museum of Underwater Art (MOUA) blends art and environmental conservation in a breathtaking underwater gallery. Stunning sculptures lie beneath the surface, each a tribute to the Great Barrier Reef and its ecosystem. Among them is a face honoring Dr Katharina Fabricius, a renowned coral reef ecologist who has been dedicated to protecting the reef for three decades. MOUA is more than just art: it’s a powerful statement about culture, science, and community working together.
We also meet Kim Marsden, an artist whose journey with Babinda Quarters began with her late mother’s legacy and a passion for restoring old buildings. After her mum transformed the former nursing quarters into a guesthouse, Kim completed a three-year renovation, blending historical charm with modern comfort. She infused the space with colour, local art, and personal touches that honor its art deco roots. Today Babinda Quarters attracts guests with its unique charm and Kim’s hospitality.
Join us for this journey along the Pacific Coast Way showcasing the beauty and spirit of Queensland at every stop, on My Way, Sunday at 5.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
