On Bondi Beach, ahead of International Women’s Day, the cast of Ten Pound Poms celebrated the upcoming season return with a spirited reimagining of a classic 1950s bikini protest.

Set to premiere on March 10 exclusively on Stan, Season 2 dives into the era’s harsh restrictions on women—from bikini bans to being barred from pubs—while spotlighting the resilience and bold activism that paved the way for change.

Created by BAFTA award-winning Danny Brocklehurst, the new season features a stellar ensemble including Stephen Curry, Tina Bursill, Michelle Keegan, and more, promising a fresh yet historically resonant look at a time when fighting for women’s rights was a radical act.

Cast of the Stan Original Series Ten Pound Poms celebrated the upcoming season return, at a special event at Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach, ahead of International Women’s Day.

As Ten Pound Poms returns for a brand new season March 10, its storylines, written and created by the BAFTA award-winning Danny Brocklehurst (Fool Me Once, Ordinary Lies, Brassic), shine a light on the restrictions women endured, specifically in the 1950s, which Ten Pound Poms is set, from bikini bans to being barred from pubs-mirroring historical protests that fought for women’s rights in Australia.

To mark the occasion, Stan staged a powerful activation: a reimagining of the 1950s Bondi bikini protest,which drew a huge crowd of curious bystanders at Bondi, Bronte and Coogee beaches. Ten Pound Poms stars Stephen CurryTina BursillCheree CassidyMaya Stange and Grant Lyndon were joined by 35 women in hand-sourced original 1950s bikinis and swimsuits, styled with period hair and makeup, who stepped off a vintage red double decker bus and marched onto Bondi Beach, placards in hand – just as women did decades ago when they fought for the right to wear what they wanted.

New characters introduced to the second series include Marcus Graham (Myall Creek: Day of Justice) unscrupulous landlord Benny Bates and the Skinner family portrayed by Sam Delich (Spiderhead), Maya Stange (Love Child), Tommy Green and Clare Hughes (Ladies in Black), who arrive in Australia from Ireland ready to enjoy their new lives in the sunshine.

Ten Pound Poms is produced by Eleven (Sex Education, Red Rose) for BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the UK and is a co-production between BBC and Stan. Danny Brocklehurst is the creator, writer and also serves as Executive Producer. Joining Danny Brocklehurst on the writing team is Ryan Griffen (Cleverman) alongside Smita Bhide (The Indian Detective). Ana Kokkinos (Fires, The Hunting) and Tom McKay (Jerk, Bloods) direct the series and series producer is Karl ZwickyJoel WilsonOlivia TrenchSophie Williams and Jamie Campbell are Executive Producers for Eleven. Executive producer for the BBC is Gaynor Holmes, and Cailah Scobie and Amanda Duthie are Executive Producers for Stan.

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) will distribute the series worldwide. Filming wrapped on location in Australia last year, with Curio Pictures providing production services. Ten Pound Poms Season 2 is financed with support from the NSW Government through Screen NSW’s Made in NSW Fund. Post, digital and visual effects also supported by Screen NSW.

Every episode of season one is now streaming, only on Stan.
