After a drama-filled Couples Retreat, the latest MAFS Dinner Party was never going to be smooth sailing, but no one expected this level of chaos.

From Beth confronting Ryan over past tensions to Jamie demanding apologies from Carina and Rhi, tensions boiled over in every corner of the room.

Just when the group thought things couldn’t get more explosive, Veronica found herself in the hot seat over secret conversations about Eliot, and a teary walkout sealed the night’s fate.

Meanwhile, Lauren and Clint skipped the drama entirely—opting for their own private gathering instead.

From Nine:

It’s the day after the Couples Retreat, and time for the 5th Dinner Party. For Adrian and Awhina, the retreat was a triumph, strengthening their bond. For Jacqui and Ryan, they are seemingly back on track, despite a hiccup on the first night of the retreat.

However, Beth is simmering with resentment, having learned that Ryan apologised to her partner, Teejay, and not her, for the “classless” comment. Beth is determined to confront Ryan, but she’s not the only one wanting to settle a score this evening.

Jamie feels betrayed by Carina and Rhi’s lack of support at the retreat, and she’s coming to the Dinner Party demanding an apology. Carina and Rhi, on the other hand, hope Jamie has had time to reflect and will be more understanding of their position – they were simply trying to comfort Lauren.

Unbeknownst to the group, Lauren and Clint, the source of all this friction amongst friends, have opted to skip the Dinner Party altogether, choosing to host their own gathering instead.

The Cocktail Party begins with Beth confronting Ryan. They exchange apologies, temporarily burying the hatchet. Carina and Rhi nervously anticipate Jamie’s arrival, worried her confrontational style will resurface.

Jamie enters and privately confides in Teejay that she expects an apology from Carina and Rhi. As the group waits for Lauren and Clint to arrive, dinner is served, revealing their absence for the evening.

The Dinner Party commences, and Jamie doesn’t hold back, making it clear she felt abandoned at the retreat. Carina attempts to explain that she didn’t agree with how Lauren was treated, describing it as “mean girls” behaviour.

Jamie is incensed by this comment, igniting a fiery confrontation between her and Carina. Their friendship hangs by a thread as Jamie unleashes a series of low blows. The two reach an impasse, and Jamie declares their discussion over.

When Veronica attempts to interrupt to defend Lauren, Jamie turns her attention to her, suggesting her defence for Lauren is because the two girls have spoken about Eliot behind his back.

Eliot is shocked by this, and Veronica is forced to admit it was true – they did meet up. Eliot, now aware of Veronica’s actions, questions her loyalty to the relationship.

Finally, Jamie confronts Rhi, expressing her hurt and disappointment. Rhi apologises, and Jamie accepts, but pointedly excludes Carina from the reconciliation, claiming she doesn’t put her in the same category.

Carina, hurt and feeling inadequate, leaves the table before breaking down in tears.
