On last night’s Married at First Sight, emotions ran high as the fourth Commitment Ceremony delivered tense confrontations, unexpected revelations, and one dramatic exit.
Tony was left blindsided when Morena vanished before the ceremony, only to make a shocking last-minute return. Meanwhile, Paul faced the Experts after his heated argument with Carina, and Awahina stood her ground against Adrian’s attempts to silence her.
As couples navigated tough conversations, one participant’s decision to leave changed everything.
From Nine:
It’s time for the fourth Commitment Ceremony and while some couples are wrapped up in marital bliss, others will be confronted by the Experts and held accountable for their actions. Most of the group are still processing Paul’s shock behaviour during an argument with Carina. Dave, Teejay, and Jeff all condemn Paul’s actions and are expecting the Experts to hold him accountable. Paul is horrified with his own actions and expresses deep remorse to Carina, but even though Carina has forgiven him, they both know that the Experts may not.
After Awhina and Adrian’s Meet the Family disaster, Awhina is determined to go into tonight’s Commitment Ceremony and get advice from the Experts. She wants to talk about what happened when their two families came together and find guidance on how to move forward. Adrian, however, is adamant he will not discuss the family matter at all.
Meanwhile, with the Commitment Ceremony only hours away, one of the brides has gone missing – Morena is nowhere to be found. Disappointed that he can’t at least say goodbye, Tony must enter the Commitment Ceremony alone.
The Commitment Ceremony begins, and the Experts notice Morena is missing and invite Tony up on the couch. As Tony begins to unpack their relationship, Morena makes a last-minute grand entrance, shocking the group. Tony explains that Morena’s personality is too much for him, but Morena bites back insisting that the real reason Tony doesn’t like her is because of her age, dismissing Tony’s sudden urge to have a baby as an excuse. The Experts are shocked, they didn’t know Tony wanted children, nor had he revealed this urge in the lead-up to the experiment. Tony chooses to leave the experiment, and Morena in a final bout of anger writes “good riddance” to Tony… this is the end of their relationship and time in the experiment.

Jamie and Dave take to the couch next, gushing about how meeting their friends and family helped them see a genuine future is possible with each other and are excited to continue their journey together.
Meanwhile, while couples are on the couch, Awhina and Adrian have a hushed conversation on the sidelines. Adrian attempts to convince Awhina not to talk about their family day, but Awhina pushes back demanding that Adrian not tell her what to do.
The Experts invite Jacqui and Ryan to the couch, and their positivity radiates off them. Jacqui feels supported by Ryan, and the pair reveal that they’ve taken their relationship to the next level and have been intimate… twice. Rhi and Jeff also had a positive meet-the-family week. Their families love each other, with Rhi’s mum thanking Jeff for looking after her baby girl.
When Awhina and Adrian take to the couch, tension is thick in the air – will they talk about family week? Awhina tries to talk but Adrian talks over her and shuts her down multiple times. Dave calls out Adrian for controlling what she says. When asked by the Experts whether she needed permission from Adrian to speak, Awhina admits that she doesn’t go into detail for fear of causing a rift between them. The Experts ask Awhina what she likes about Adrian, but Awhina dodges the question, and it isn’t until Expert John repeats the question four times that Awhina answers. Ultimately, both of them stay in the experiment deciding to look past their families’ feud and focus on what makes them work.
On the couch, Eliot opens up about his sister’s tragic past, and the Experts hold a mirror up to Veroncia’s dismissive behaviour towards him. After some initial resistance, Veroncia ultimately accepts that she was wrong and needs to learn to empathise, both write stay.
Next up on the couch, Lauren reveals shocking information about Clint. She saw something that rocked her to her core. Clint was caught… doing the dishes! Lauren is attracted to dominant alpha males, and she fears that Clint is not an alpha. After discussing gender roles, Clint is confident he can be an alpha and Lauren is willing, although hesitant, to let Clint try.
Beth and Teejay bring a breath of positivity to the couch. This is Beth’s first relationship, and she is surprised how happy and comfortable she is around Teejay. The pair reveal that they have been intimate and are happily cruising in the experiment.
As Carina and Paul take to the couch, the room turns silent and tense. The Experts waste no time, immediately pushing for an explanation for Paul’s unacceptable actions. Paul breaks into tears, but the Experts don’t relent, holding him accountable for his actions. Paul apologises to Carina again and is filled with regret. Carina talks through the argument and although she forgives Paul, it has impacted their strong bond. The couple choose to stay in the experiment together and Paul leaves the Commitment Ceremony sobbing with regret.
