The stage is set, and the competition is tougher than ever—Australian Idol last night revealed its Top 30 after weeks of auditions that saw thousands chase their dreams, but only the best earning a Golden Ticket.

Judges Marcia Hines, Kyle Sandilands, and Amy Shark have declared this season the most demanding yet, as the finalists now prepare to sing for their spot in the Top 21.

The final auditions cemented Australian Idol’s Top 30 tonight, as the international star-making sensation saw thousands of hopefuls vie for a shot at their dream, with only the most outstanding receiving a coveted Golden Ticket.

As the toughest and most surprising season yet, judges Marcia Hines, Kyle Sandilands and Amy Shark were looking for the ultimate performer: a singer with the sound, style and star quality to win the heart of the nation.

Marcia admitted:

“This year, the bar has been set incredibly high.”

Amy declared:

“I feel like I need to be firm. Surviving the music industry, especially now, is extremely challenging. You need to be very resilient to have a real shot of being in the Top 30 of Australian Idol.”

Kyle added:

“This is show business. Only the toughest have what it takes to survive. Our job is to put the 30 best people up.”
