The 2025 AACTA Awards Audience Choice finalists are in, with Australian fan favorites Margot Robbie, Jacob Elordi, Cate Blanchett, and Robert Irwin making the cut.

But in a surprising twist for an Australian awards show, all six nominees for Favourite TV Show as voted by the audience come from Netflix, including global hits like Bridgerton and Emily in Paris, while the category overlooks several deserving local series (Fisk, Fake anyone?).

With international streaming titles dominating, alongside breakout local hits like Boy Swallows Universe and Heartbreak High, does this truly reflect Australian viewing habits, or should the voting criteria be tightened to better spotlight homegrown productions?
