The latest Dancing With The Stars Australia cast announcement dropped on social media over the weekend, revealing that Olympic boxer Harry Garside is swapping his gloves for dancing shoes.

Garside is the second celebrity confirmed for this year’s cast of Dancing With The Stars Australia, following the network’s announcement at their upfronts event last year that comedian and television presenter Shaun Micallef would be appearing on the dancing series.

Known for his Olympic boxing career, Harry competed in the Tokyo Olympics held in 2021, where he made history by securing a bronze medal in lightweight boxing, becoming the first Australian male boxer in 33 years to win a medal in this category.

No stranger to reality television, he also appeared on 10’s ninth season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia in 2023, finishing in second place alongside fellow stars Anna Polyviou, Debra Lawrence, Peter Helliar and Liz Ellis who took out the crown.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Harry Garside’s dance partner for Dancing With The Stars Australia will be Siobhan Power, a seasoned professional dancer who has previously partnered with stars like Jamie Durie and Kris Smith.

This year marks the 22nd season of Dancing With The Stars Australia, with Sonia Kruger and Dr. Chris Brown returning as hosts, the latter joining the show last year after making his move to Channel 7.

Dancing With The Stars Australia is coming soon to Channel 7 and 7plus
