Disney+ has announced the premiere of its highly anticipated original series A Thousand Blows from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.
Set to debut on Friday, February 21, 2025, in Australia and New Zealand, the six-episode series explores the brutal world of illegal boxing in 1880s Victorian London.
Inspired by real-life characters, the story follows Hezekiah Moscow and Alec Munroe, best friends fleeing Jamaica who are thrust into London’s dangerous bare-knuckle boxing scene.
As Hezekiah rises to fame, he attracts the attention of Mary Carr, the Queen of the Forty Elephants, who plans to exploit his skills for her criminal enterprise.

Meanwhile, the self-proclaimed ruler of the East End boxing world, Sugar Goodson, sees Hezekiah as a threat to his empire, leading to an explosive clash of old and new worlds.
The series stars Malachi Kirby, Erin Doherty, and Stephen Graham, who also serves as executive producer alongside Hannah Walters. Created, written, and executive produced by Steven Knight, A Thousand Blows is produced by Matriarch Productions, The Story Collective, and Water & Power Productions, with Professor David Olusoga contributing as executive producer.
The ensemble cast also includes Francis Lovehall, Jason Tobin, Darci Shaw, and Daniel Mays, among others. Executive producer Lee Mason, Director of Scripted Content for Disney+ EMEA, oversees the production.
