It’s been a big year, and we all deserve a break.

2024 is almost run and won. What a year it’s been for the TV Industry in Australia! Behind the scenes upheaval, big moments, and it was an Olympic year (which didn’t pass without its own controversies – looking at you Sneesby and Raygun).

Over the next couple of weeks there will be minimal updates from the TV BLACKBOX team as we all take a well-earned break. Another monster year for us, and we’re thankful for an amazing team who work with us to keep you informed and entertained with everything happening in the Australian TV industry. A special thanks to Kyle Laidlaw for all the work he’s been doing this year too!

We’ll be back at full strength in early January, just in time for the newest season of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! live from Africa.

We’re streaming more content than ever before and watching less on linear broadcast television (thanks for the numbers, ACMA), so 2025 is going to be a real watershed moment for all three commercial broadcasters for sure. Of course we’re still tuning in for breaking news, live sport, and the big reality shows that keep us entranced. Can it continue? The coming year will give us an indication, especially as we get yet another streaming service – and quite possibly the biggest since Netflix launched here – HBO’s Max.

Thank you for reading, commenting, listening, watching, and sharing all the content we push out through the website. It doesn’t function with your input and we really appreciate it.

Have a joyous Christmas with people you love and love you, and a safe-yet-off-the-hook New Year.

Kyle, Rob, and Molk. 🎄🎉👍
