Netflix has unveiled plans for its NFL Christmas Gameday, featuring two marquee games on Boxing Day AEDT and star-studded appearances by Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, and six Aussie sporting legends.

It’s not Christmas without Mariah Carey, and she’s been announced to perform during Netflix’s NFL Christmas Gameday, bringing her iconic holiday spirit to the Boxing Day broadcast.

The global broadcast also includes the previously announced live halftime performance by Beyoncé, marking the first live performance of songs from her record-breaking album titled Cowboy Carter.

In the lead-up to the Boxing Day games, Netflix enlisted some Aussie sporting legends and radio stars for a NFL-inspired training session.

Rugby league stars Brian To’o and Willie Mason, Olympic gold medalist Charlotte Caslick, AFL icons Mason Cox and Brendan Fevola, Matildas standout Chloe Logarzo, and sports-loving radio hosts Jimmy Smith and Nathan Roye took part in a Pro Bowl-style skills showdown with a festive Boxing Day twist.

Inspired by real NFL training camp drills, classic Aussie challenges included the Thong Dash, Sausage Drop, Pool Punt, and Ham Toss putting the athletes to the ultimate test.

Netflix’s partnership with the NFL began with the hit series Quarterback in 2023. This was followed by Receiver, released in July, which chronicles the 2023 season of star pass catchers like Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, and Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Netflix will stream the NFL’s two marquee Christmas Day games down under on Boxing Day with the Super Bowl LVII champion Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers at 5:00am AEDT, followed by the Baltimore Ravens facing the Houston Texans at 8:30am AEDT.
