‘Six & Out’ and Fox Cricket Set to Kick Off Summer of Cricket on Kayo Sports and Foxtel
Kayo Sports and Foxtel are preparing for a blockbuster Summer of Cricket, featuring a special preview event at the Sydney Coliseum in Rooty Hill on Friday, 15 November.
The event will include a live panel of prominent Fox Cricket commentators and a performance from Australia’s beloved cricket-themed band, Six & Out.
The show will be broadcast on Fox Cricket on Monday, 18 November, immediately following the third T20 International between Australia and Pakistan. Hosted by Fox Cricket commentator Mark Howard, the preview will offer fans insights into the much-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Test series between Australia and India.
Howard will be joined by well-known Indian commentators Harsha Bhogle and Ravi Shastri, as well as former Australian cricketers David Warner, Brett Lee, and Wasim Akram. The upcoming five-match Test series, airing live and ad-free during play, will be available on both Kayo Sports and Foxtel.
Adding to the fanfare, Six & Out—a band made up of former cricketers—will not only perform live but also engage with fans in a meet-and-greet session. Band members Brett Lee, Gavin Robertson, Richard Chee Quee, Brad McNamara, and Shane Lee are set to play a selection of 15 songs at the event, blending their musical talents with their cricketing legacy.
In conjunction with the summer’s festivities, Foxtel’s in-house creative agency Balboa has collaborated with McDonald’s to produce a new documentary series on Six & Out, titled Six & Out: Second Innings. This five-part series, with each episode lasting 15 minutes, will provide a deeper look into the band’s journey, highlighting their connection to Australian cricket culture.
Scheduled to coincide with each Test in the Australia v India series, Six & Out: Second Innings will feature interviews with the band members, insights from notable cricket personalities, and behind-the-scenes footage from the band’s rehearsals and live shows. The series will be available to stream on Kayo Sports and Foxtel.
Reflecting on the project, Brett Lee commented:
“It’s amazing to get back on stage and perform for fans who have supported us through the years.
The energy and love we get from the crowd is unbeatable. And with McDonald’s coming on board to help tell our story, it feels like we’re bringing something truly special to the fans.
The documentary, Six & Out: Second Innings, dives into our journey as a band and what cricket and music have meant to us. For fans everywhere, we’re excited to share this next chapter with them on Kayo and Foxtel.”
The band has also scheduled additional performances across Australia, with shows planned in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, and Melbourne during the Border-Gavaskar Test Series. These live events promise to deliver an electrifying atmosphere for cricket fans nationwide as they celebrate the summer season.
