Kylie faces off with Brad on Wednesday’s Block episode—find out what happened.
In Wednesday night’s edition of The Block (episode 47) airing on Channel 9 and 9Now, there are just a few days left until the homes are finished and all of the Blockheads are officially back on-site, as Kylie has returned after fleeing home to Cairns over Brad’s ‘inappropriate’ behaviour.
She’s feeling deflated and unmotivated – and not exactly ready to face Brad.
Her plan is to get their house done so they have something to sell come Auction Day, but without any help from her husband.
Tradies have been hard at work on the site’s communal pool and tennis court area, and Scotty has called all the Blockheads together for the big reveal.
It’s Kylie’s first time facing the group, and she admits it’s hard to front in the the face of everything that’s happened.
Despite so many problems between them throughout the season, the first people to greet her are Maddy and Charlotte who say they want to make her feel comfortable.
They’re a little out of the loop on what’s happened, but notice that things are awkward between her and Mimi.
Mimi avoids Kylie completely, explaining things still felt “fresh”.
“If I get rejected it will break my heart,” she tells Kristian.
Later, one of Kristian and Mimi’s pieces to camera is interrupted by Kylie and Brad speaking nearby.
Further audio of their discussion shows Kylie telling Brad how disappointed she is with what happened, and how she might not even stay in Cairns after filming ends.
“My biggest problem – the entire time we have been together, you have never flirted with me like that. In our entire relationship,” she says.
“So you can only imagine how that makes me feel.”
Brad apologises profusely, but Kylie continues: “You’ve just completely annihilated our relationship. This is us being separated. We’re officially single people.”
The next morning, House 5 has so much going on that landscaper Troy decides to send his whole team home. There’s simply no room for them to get anything done, so why bother?
Kristian is left needing to carrying two tonnes worth of tiles up stairs to his balcony. The prospect of it sets off his anxiety and he takes himself off-site for a break.
After a few hours away, he returns feeling fresh again. Well, as fresh as you can during Week 12 of The Block.
Scotty visits House 5 and lifts his spirits further, calling him one of the top 3 hardest workers the show has ever had.
“He’s worked his butt off. And you’re always shaking everyone’s hand, you’re always happy, you’re always smiling, you always say good morning and I really appreciate your presence on The Block,” Scotty praises.
This week, Courtney and Grant are attempting to build arbours for their Mitre 10 DIY project. Grant is a landscape business development manager so surely this is a piece of cake for him…
CRUNCH.
Or not?
While digging a hole, he’s gone straight through the top AND bottom of the storm water pipe. Now, he’s well and truly in the doghouse with site plumber Marty.
They have to replace the pipe and Grant has to start digging again in a different location
It’s only after he’s struggled through a bit by hand that Haydn tells him there’s a machine that can help. Oops. After triple-checking the hole locations with Marty, their DIY project is finally underway.
Disaster strikes as Grant hits a stormwater pipe
While he and Court are flush with cash, Kylie and Brad’s budget is practically zero. To make matters worse, Ricky and Haydn’s 70-foot palm tree – which they’ve beautifully named Lachy, after their late best friend – arrives on a truck and quite literally stops House 4 in its tracks.
A crane is anchored outside Houses 3 and 4, making access impossible. Then the tree is delicately lifted down into a biiiiig hole.
That is – uh oh – not big enough.
It takes so long to put Lachy in place that House 4’s landscaper Clay heads home early, unable to access any of the space he needs to.
House 4’s builders walk off the job as work comes to a standstill
Kylie, Brad and builder Ben are very frustrated.
“I’ve lost seven hours for something that we couldn’t even plan for… I don’t see how it’s fair,” Brad complains.
House 3’s palm tree delivery causes chaos
At House 5, Kristian works well into the night while Mimi converses with him from up on their balcony.
“What would you like? I’ll grant you any wish,” she jokes.
“I wish my wife would do some work instead of f–king around on the balcony,” he replies.
On Sunday, it’s the final scramble before the teams officially FINISH their houses. Then, in the final house Reveal of the year.
It’s set to be one of the most dramatic nights in Block history – see you there.
