Paramount+’s The Agency stars Michael Fassbender in a new thriller. Out 30 Nov.
Paramount+ has announced the premiere date and trailer release for its upcoming political thriller, The Agency, which is set to launch exclusively on the platform on Saturday, 30 November. This new series will debut with two episodes, building anticipation for what is expected to be a high-stakes, internationally charged espionage drama.
With a cast led by Michael Fassbender, a two-time Academy Award nominee, The Agency also stars Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith, Katherine Waterston, John Magaro, Alex Reznik, Andrew Brooke, Harriet Sansom Harris, India Fowler, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, Reza Brojerdi, and Richard Gere. Hugh Bonneville makes a guest appearance, with recurring roles filled by Adam Nagaitis, Ambreen Razia, Bilal Hasna, David Harewood, Kurt Egyiawan, Ray BLK, Sabrina Wu, and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor.
Currently in production in London, The Agency is a reimagined adaptation of the critically acclaimed French drama Le Bureau des Légendes. The plot centres on Martian (played by Fassbender), a covert CIA operative ordered to return to London Station after years of maintaining an undercover identity. Reuniting with a past love, he finds himself torn between his personal life and professional obligations, navigating a complex web of espionage where personal and national interests collide.
The series is co-produced by Showtime Studios in association with 101 Studios and Smokehouse Pictures, with distribution by Paramount Global Content Distribution and Federation Studios. The Agency boasts a production team led by executive producers Keith Cox and Nina L. Diaz (Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios); David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, and Bob Yari (101 Studios); as well as George Clooney and Grant Heslov (Smokehouse Pictures). Further executive oversight includes Alex Berger (TOP – The Originals Productions), Ashley Stern and Pascal Breton (Federation Studios/Federation Entertainment of America), and Fassbender himself. Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth serve as writers and executive producers, with Joe Wright directing and executive producing the series’ opening episodes.
