Kylie walks out on The Block as marriage drama with Brad unfolds in an emotional episode.
In an intense and emotional Monday night episode of The Block (episode 45, airing on Channel 9 and 9Now), the weight of 12 gruelling weeks has seemingly reached breaking point for the contestants.
Chief among them are Kylie and Brad, who find their relationship at a dramatic crossroads.
At the Domain Open For Inspections that morning, tension is unmistakable as Kylie pointedly avoids interacting with Brad. The week’s focus is meant to be on finishing touches, including landscaping and garden design, but this takes a back seat when Kylie decides she’s had enough. In a shocking move, she abandons her Block car, phone, and boots in an Aldi car park, signalling an apparent departure to Cairns.
Kylie’s exit follows a weekend marred by festering resentment. What started as an evening of champagnes around the fire pit with Brad and Mimi took a sour turn when Kylie reportedly overheard “inappropriate” flirtation between the two. As tension escalates, Brad is left reeling, piecing together the fallout from Kylie’s disappearance.
The episode spares no discomfort as Brad discovers Kylie’s deserted car and watches a farewell video she left for the production crew. In it, Kylie’s frustration is clear:
“I can’t be on national television with my marriage breaking down. I’m going home and I can’t say I will be returning…
Thank you for the opportunity and I’m sorry I couldn’t stay ‘til the end. I’m just not strong enough anymore.”
Behind the scenes, Brad faces questioning from a producer, who doesn’t hold back on probing the details of the apparent infidelity. Brad concedes to making “pretty inappropriate comments” that Kylie overheard, admitting his behaviour was “embarrassing” and that he “managed to do it anyway.” “I’d very much say I’ve just single-handedly destroyed my family,” he confesses.
Meanwhile, the renovation projects continue amidst the upheaval. Contestants tackle front yards, with Ricky and Haydn making jokes about the sizeable palm tree they purchase, while Kristian and Mimi get a head start on the communal cinema room. But as the episode comes to a close, hints of lingering tension remain, especially when Kristian pointedly asks Mimi, “You guys just talked?” and a producer presses her to clarify.
Scenes from that fateful night in Brad and Kylie’s backyard add to the speculation, showing Brad and Mimi in close conversation as she playfully questions if he could “catch” her if she leapt from a balcony. Later, she brushes off a discussion about a phone call, declaring, “What I do when I’m drunk is none of my business.”
Kylie’s heartbreak is palpable as she confides in her mother over the phone, recalling overhearing Brad tell Mimi, “You know I’d follow your OnlyFans.” She vents her frustration with Brad,
“How many f*ing chances have I given him?… Like a friend has done that, but also my husband.”
The episode’s climax arrives as Courtney and Grant are at their winners’ dinner with past contestants Deb and Andy. Scotty reveals the news: Kylie has left The Block. Courtney and Grant are left to process what this development means for the competition – and whether Kylie’s exit is permanent.
As for Brad, his remorse and regret come too late. Whether Kylie will return, or if this truly marks the end of her Block journey and their marriage, remains to be seen.
