Catch the 2024 Pacific Championships rugby league as Australia’s Kangaroos and Jillaroos take on New Zealand. Watch live and free on 9Network and 9Now.
The Pacific Championships continue this weekend, with the second week of rugby league action showcasing top-tier talent. As the tournament heats up, Australia is poised to demonstrate its strength in both the men’s and women’s divisions.
The spotlight on Sunday, October 27 will be a double-header, with the Kangaroos and Jillaroos travelling to New Zealand to face off against the Kiwis in a highly anticipated match-up on their home soil.
After defeating Tonga, the Kangaroos are preparing for another crucial match, aiming to secure a place in the Pacific Cup final. This clash offers a chance for Australia to avenge last year’s defeat to New Zealand. Key players such as Tom Trbojevic, Tom Dearden, and Mitchell Moses, under the captaincy of Isaah Yeo, will be pivotal as the team looks to continue its impressive run.
Meanwhile, the Jillaroos will face their own test against the Kiwi Ferns. Coming off an historic 84-point victory over Papua New Guinea, which saw star winger Julia Robinson score an incredible six tries, the Jillaroos are eager to maintain their winning momentum.
Nine’s rugby league coverage will be led by James Bracey and Emma Lawrence, with an expert commentary team featuring former Australian captains Cameron Smith, Brad Fittler, Andrew Johns, and Darren Lockyer, alongside Billy Slater, Paul Gallen, Johnathan Thurston, and international representative Ruan Sims. Commentators Mathew Thompson, Brenton Speed, and Peter Psaltis round out the line-up.
The Pacific Championships matches will be broadcast live and free on the 9Network and available to stream on 9Now.
