The finalists set to battle it out for the title are: Annie Jones from Team Adam, Jaedyn Randell from Team Kate, SKŸE from Team Guy, and Reuben De Melo from Team LeAnn. As the competition narrows, all eyes are on these four artists who stand just one performance away from victory.
The night also featured a special performance by coach Guy Sebastian, who debuted his new single, No Reason to Stay.
Kate Miller-Heidke had high praise for her finalist, Jaedyn Randell, following her stunning rendition of Wide Awake by Katy Perry. Miller-Heidke declared that Jaedyn had “a gift,” adding, “From that very first moment until now, we’ve been witnessing you becoming a star.”
Jaedyn’s advancement meant saying goodbye to fellow Team Kate artist Tom Leeming, whose emotional version of Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye was not enough to secure him a place in the finale.
For SKŸE, his mesmerising performance of Joni Mitchell’s Both Sides Now earned him a place in the final four. Guy Sebastian commented on SKŸE’s growth throughout the season, saying, “I think throughout the journey there was just that little bit of a lack of connection. Tonight, it was there.”
Both LeAnn Rimes and Kate Miller-Heidke also expressed their admiration for SKŸE, with Kate noting that he was “deeply connected” to the song. Unfortunately, Jaydin Shingleton, also from Team Guy, was eliminated after delivering a soulful take on Beautiful Things by Benson Boone.
For Team Adam, 16-year-old Annie Jones impressed with a powerhouse performance of Love Is a Battlefield by Pat Benatar. Her determination to prove herself paid off, making her the youngest finalist this season. Reflecting on the journey, she shared, “I want to prove to Adam that all this styling and mentoring, that it’s all worth it.”
However, Siena, also from Team Adam, exited the competition after performing Jealous by Labyrinth. Coach Adam Lambert described her as “poised, peaceful, and lovely, like a flower.”
Reuben De Melo, from Team LeAnn, captivated both the audience and his coach with a stirring rendition of Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game. LeAnn, who had used her Ultimate Block on Reuben in the season’s opening episode, called him “the epitome of an artist.” Faced with a tough decision between Reuben and Letitia Butler, LeAnn ultimately sent Reuben through to the Grand Finale, remarking, “They’ve both made it so hard for me tonight.”
With the final four artists now chosen, Australia is invited to vote for the winner. The 2024 champion will receive $100,000 in prize money, a music masterclass, and an industry recording development package.
