Prime Video announces Reacher spinoff starring Maria Sten, set to premiere in 2025.
Prime Video has announced a new addition to its successful Reacher universe with a series order for an untitled spinoff centred around Maria Sten, reprising her role as Frances Neagley. This expansion of the popular action-drama was unveiled by Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios, at the Prime Video Presents: Trailblazers event in London.
The forthcoming series, referred to as The Untitled Neagley Project, is co-created by Nick Santora (Reacher, Prison Break, FUBAR) and Nicholas Wootton (Law & Order, Prison Break), who will also serve as showrunners and executive producers. Produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television, and CBS Studios, the series is expected to launch exclusively on Prime Video, streaming across more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
The storyline follows Frances Neagley, a Chicago-based private investigator, as she seeks justice after learning that a close friend has died under suspicious circumstances. Utilising her expertise gained from Jack Reacher and her tenure with the elite 110 Special Investigators, Neagley embarks on a dangerous quest to confront a growing threat.
“As Reacher continues to resonate with our global customers in a profound way, expanding on the storytelling and characters with a spinoff was an easy decision,”
remarked Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios.
“With Nick and Nicholas, along with our partners at Skydance and CBS Studios, we’re confident this new chapter, starring the amazing Maria Sten, will not only honour the Reacher legacy but also bring fresh energy and excitement to both new and longtime fans.”
Santora and Wootton added,
“Lee Child created an immensely rich character with Neagley, and Maria Sten brought her to life in such a vivid, authentic way in Reacher. Amazon, Skydance Television, and CBS Studios have been tremendous partners from the start, and we are excited to explore Neagley’s story further and dive into what makes her so unique.”
Sten herself expressed excitement about the project, stating,
“I’m beyond thrilled to further explore the world of Neagley and her somewhat mysterious background. She’s such a wonderful character to play, and I’m very excited for everyone to get to know her a little better.“
The spinoff also marks a continuation of the strong collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and Skydance Television, with this project becoming the seventh in their joint portfolio. Other productions include the highly successful Reacher series, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, the upcoming Cross, and the recently announced The Runarounds, an action-adventure series starring Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham.

In addition to Santora and Wootton, the series will also see Lee Child, Don Granger, and Lisa Kussner serving as executive producers, alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell for Skydance Television. Key members of the Skydance team, including Carolyn Harris, Kenny Madrid, and Niko Fernandez, will oversee the production.
Fans of the Reacher universe and newcomers alike can look forward to another action-packed instalment in the ever-expanding world created by Lee Child.
