The Block’s first-ever go-kart challenge brings high-stakes competition, as Maddy and Charlotte face isolation and Kristian reaches out for help.
In Tuesday night’s episode of The Block (Episode 30), tensions continue to simmer for Maddy and Charlotte, as Maddy wakes up feeling despondent about their ongoing struggles.
The pair has felt increasingly isolated, with little support or camaraderie from the other contestants.
Meanwhile, Mimi is back to her detective ways, correctly anticipating a challenge, despite the fact that all the teams are buried in their living and dining room renovations. Her intuition proves spot on when the Blockheads are whisked away to the iconic Phillip Island race track.
However, instead of the expected car or motorbike race, the contestants find themselves behind the wheels of go-karts. The team with the fastest combined time will walk away victorious.
Once again, Ricky and Haydn emerge triumphant, securing the $5000 prize. Kristian and Mimi take second place and pocket $3000, while Kylie and Brad round out the top three, earning $2000 for their efforts.
During the challenge, host Scott Cam makes a surprising announcement—a first in the show’s history. Due to unforeseen plastering delays, professional painters will be provided for all the houses, relieving some of the pressure on the contestants.
Back at the worksite, Kristian finds himself in a difficult position. Swallowing his pride, he heads to Maddy and Charlotte’s house, asking if he can borrow their plasterers. Despite the bad blood from earlier in the competition—when Kristian had taken their plasterers during week one, leaving them in the lurch—the pair agree to help.
Maddy and Charlotte express that they want to take the high road, and Kristian is deeply grateful. He is visibly emotional, nearly in tears, as the weight of the competition appears to be catching up with him.
