The Panthers, aiming to extend their historic run of Grand Final appearances to five consecutive years, face a rematch with the team that beat them in the first of these finals in 2020. The Panthers’ star Nathan Cleary will spearhead the effort to secure another title, supported by Jarome Luai and James Fisher-Harris.

On the other side, the Melbourne Storm, the runaway Minor Premiers, bring their formidable trio of Cameron Munster, Ryan Papenhuyzen, and Jahrome Hughes into the contest, hoping to spoil the Panthers’ party and claim their own piece of rugby league glory.

The day’s festivities kick off early with Weekend Today live from 7.00am AEDT, leading into a packed schedule of pre-match programming. The build-up includes the NRL State Championship Grand Final between the Newtown Jets and Norths Devils at 1.20pm AEDT, followed by the NRLW Grand Final pitting the Sydney Roosters against the Cronulla Sharks at 3.55pm AEDT.

Viewers can also enjoy added features on 9Now, including dedicated player cameras focusing on Nathan Cleary and Ryan Papenhuyzen, offering a closer view of their on-field performance.

A star-studded lineup of commentators and analysts will guide viewers through the action. James Bracey, Danika Mason, Emma Lawrence, and Marlee Silva will lead the coverage, with commentary from a distinguished team of rugby league legends including Andrew Johns, Cameron Smith, Darren Lockyer, Johnathan Thurston, Brad Fittler, Billy Slater, and Phil Gould AM, among others.

The day’s live commentary will be called by Mat Thompson, Brenton Speed, and Peter Psaltis.
