Experience Savannah Sounds On The Reef: Australian artists perform live on Channel 9 from the Great Barrier Reef this Saturday at 1pm.
The Great Barrier Reef is set to host an extraordinary musical spectacle as the natural wonder transforms into the stage for Savannah Sounds On The Reef. This unique event, showcasing a star-studded lineup of Australian artists, will air this Saturday at 1:00 pm AEST on Channel 9 and 9Now.
The event will take place on the picturesque Moore Reef, with performances set on a floating pontoon surrounded by the reef’s pristine waters and breathtaking scenery. Viewers will enjoy performances from prominent acts, including Sheppard, Lee Kernaghan, Max Jackson, and Kairos Kin, all of whom are set to feature in the upcoming Savannah In The Round festival.
Savannah Sounds On The Reef is more than just a music event; it forms part of a broader effort aimed at boosting regional tourism and helping the community recover from the impact of Cyclone Jasper. As a not-for-profit event, it honours the volunteers and community leaders who played pivotal roles in the aftermath of the cyclone.
James Dein, CEO of Sound Australia and the driving force behind Savannah In The Round, highlighted the event’s significance in celebrating the region’s resilience.
“Music has a remarkable ability to connect and inspire, making this event a perfect opportunity to showcase the beauty of this enchanting region and celebrate the remarkable people who bring it to life.”
He added that the event serves as a preview of the Savannah In The Round festival, giving audiences a taste of the rich musical talent on offer, while highlighting the unparalleled beauty of the Reef.
Both Savannah In The Round and Savannah Sounds On The Reef receive strong backing from Tourism and Events Queensland, as well as the Australian and Queensland Governments, under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
