Hwei Loke, who joined Prime Video in 2020, steps into the role of head of Prime Video Australia and New Zealand.
With over 15 years of experience leading marketing and creative teams across major global brands like The Walt Disney Company, SBS, and Paramount, Hwei will now oversee customer growth, local marketing, live sports, Amazon Originals, and third-party content for both countries.
In a related move, Hushidar Kharas, the former head of Prime Video Australia and New Zealand, will transition to the U.S. as head of Global Prime Video Brand and Social Strategy. Kharas, who was the first employee for Prime Video in ANZ, will leverage his extensive experience in brand marketing in this new global role.
Additionally, Mark Shapiro has been named head of Prime Video Canada, and Dan Slepak will take on the newly created role of head of marketplace for Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Both will report to Magda Grace, the Head of Prime Video, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Hwei Loke’s leadership will focus on delivering a curated and customer-focused experience for Prime members in Australia and New Zealand.
Her background includes leading marketing campaigns across APAC for Disney and spearheading consumer awareness and engagement initiatives for Prime Video since 2020.
