With Sam Pang set to host a new Channel 10 show in 2025, is he leaving THE FRONT BAR? Find out what’s next.
With the surprise announcement that Sam Pang, the much-loved comedian and television host, will front his own weekly primetime series on Channel 10 in 2025, speculation has turned to how this new commitment will affect his already busy schedule.
Typically, Australian television presenters sign exclusive contracts with a single network. However, Pang has been an exception to this rule, balancing roles on Channel 10’s hit show Have You Been Paying Attention? and Channel 7’s AFL-themed The Front Bar. His ability to move between networks has become a notable feature of his career.
The news of Pang’s new weekly program for Channel 10 has raised concerns among footy fans about his future on The Front Bar, with some fearing he might step back from the show.
As of now, there is no definitive answer on how frequently Pang will appear on the AFL show in 2025, but a spokesperson for The Front Bar reassured fans, stating:
A spokesperson for the production team of The Front Bar sought to ease concerns, telling TV Blackbox,
“We still look forward to having Sam a part of The Front Bar next year, but we have let him know that it would be great if he could take his Drip Tray segment with him.”
There is also uncertainty regarding whether Seven Network will continue to have Pang host the Logies in 2025, given his new position as a primetime host on a rival network.
His stint as the Logies host over the past two years has been widely praised, with television ratings for the event climbing significantly under his stewardship. Many viewers have questioned why Pang himself has never received an individual Logie nomination, despite his status as Australia’s most beloved TV presenter.
As for the details of his new series on Channel 10, information remains scarce. Daniel Monaghan, SVP Content and Programming at Paramount Australia, shared his enthusiasm, stating:
“Sam Pang has been part of the 10 family for over a decade and we’re delighted to have commissioned his brand-new show for 2025.”
He added,
“Sam’s quick wit has kept Aussies laughing for years, and we know his fresh new program will give audiences exactly what they want. We are currently in the final stages of development, and we can’t wait to share it with viewers in the new year.”
Over rated imo
Hope so. He’s the reason I watch Front Bar.
