Confusion reigns supreme as Seven, Nine and 10 all label the same man differently – but who was right?

Sydney has been dealing with a ‘scorcher’, so maybe that explains how this bizarre incident happened.

It all started on Wednesday when 9NEWS spoke with the NSW Rural Fire Service.

According to Nine, his name was Ben Richardson.

On Thursday, Ben became Brady on 10 News First, with the super saying Capt. Brady Clarke.

Over on 7NEWS Captain Brady’s title was changed to ‘Inspector’ and he became a Ben again (although with a different last name). According to Seven his name was Insp. Ben Shepherd.

And if you want to know who had it right, well look no further than the name badge he was wearing in EVERY interview!

Seven had the good oil – his name is indeed Insp. Ben Shepherd.

By Thursday Nine had fixed their mistake, but I wonder if Ben is having an identity crisis?

  1. How can we trust any information from a news service that can’t even get basic facts right?

  2. If I’m not mistaken, he has been in that job and working with the media for the past 10 years?

    • 1. They cannot read 2. Confirmation bias – they watch “Tipping Point” hosted by Ben Shepherd but thinking that it’s not another Ben Shepherd or a combination of 1. & 2..
      LOL

  3. Yes, but Seven crossed to FRNSW Superintendent Greg Wright at 1600hrs on Wednesday and said he was from RFS.
