Taeler and Elle’s Controversial Move on Dream Home
Tuesday night on Dream Home, a dramatic clash unfolds as Taeler and Elle block access to the front yard of Mel and Brad‘s Northcote home, igniting tensions with head builder Luca.
Watsonia Homeowners: Taeler and Elle Renovators: Brad and Mel; Lara and Peter; Rhys and Liam
In Watsonia, Lara and Peter push forward with their contemporary Scandi-inspired facade, featuring timber cladding and a landscaped garden. Facing a shortage of plants, Lara sought $2000 from Rhys and Liam, who agreed the investment was necessary to enhance the front appearance.
While Rhys excelled in tiling the ensuite, Liam encountered difficulties with the study, the smallest yet most challenging space.
Brad and Mel, determined to meet Elle‘s luxurious vision for a master bedroom and walk-in robe, overspent on art, a chandelier, and a bed, leaving them with only $61. Realising the need to pay trades, they reluctantly decided to return the opulent bed.
Host Dr Chris Brown visited the site, questioning some of the teams’ controversial design choices. Brad and Mel opted against wardrobe doors, citing it would detract from the luxe ambiance, while Rhys and Liam left their bathroom doorless, claiming it was an art installation that deserved visibility.
Northcote Homeowners: Brad and Mel Renovators: Taeler and Elle; Hannah and Jonny; Jordan and Jacinta
In Northcote, Taeler and Elle focused on the facade and 12-year-old Ginger‘s bedroom, settling on lilac and purple themes inspired by an artwork purchase.
Jacinta and Jordan celebrated the plasterboard installation in the bedroom, with Jordan working overnight to paint undercoat for the Venetian plastering. During a shopping trip, Jacinta coincidentally chose the same bed Brad and Melreturned.
Upon returning, Jacinta discovered that Taeler and Elle had sealed off the front yard, frustrated by its use as a communal storage and workshop space. This move sparked conflict with other teams and led to head builder Luca refusing to communicate with the sisters.
