Australian Survivor time is quickly approaching, let’s recap what we know so far about the new season of Channel 10’s Australian Survivor: Titans vs Rebels.
Christmas came early for Australian Survivor fans with the announcement of the 2024 season Australian Survivor: Titans vs Rebels along with a trailer and a premiere date.
What else can we establish so far about the new season? What do we think of it? TV Blackbox investigates:
Where was Australian Survivor: Titans vs Rebels filmed?
The 2024 season of Australian survivor returns to Upolu, Samoa, the same place last years Heroes vs Villains was filmed. Expect a lot of changing tides, fishing and high humidity. Filming started mid last year.
What exactly is Titans vs Rebels?
The title ‘Titans vs Rebels’ has never been used across the International Survivor franchise. It does ring similar to season 37 of American Survivor: David vs Goliath which was essentially underdogs vs overachievers.
The phrase ‘Titans vs Rebels’ can mean a few things. To be a ‘titan’ means be big, great or strong, to be the rule makers. The Titan tribe could be filled with current and/or former athletes, corporate execs and industry greats.
Meanwhile, there’s a lot more to the term ‘rebel’ then belonging to an outlaw motorbike gang. To be a ‘rebel’ means to daring to be more, to challenge the status quo and overcome great odds to survive. The Rebel Tribe may include influencers, writers, people who have defied the odds to survive, lovable larrikins and almost definitely fans who know to really play the game.

Is JLP hosting again?
Hell yes! Jonathan LaPaglia is back for Titans vs Rebels.

What about the castaways?
Channel 10 has released a group photo of the castaways. There are 24 castaways, like previous seasons and the tribe colours appear to be blue (titans) vs pink (rebels). The trailer shows some diversity in the castaways from different backgrounds and age groups which is great to see. All of our Titans vs Rebel castaways are fresh faces so we won’t know what to expect. But there is one guy that has an uncanny resemblance to King George…

Is it worth watching?
Judging from just the trailer, absolutely! Titans vs Rebels looks rough and tough. The contestants abs are hard and (hopefully) their game strategy is harder. There’s a bit of time until the premiere and Channel 10 should release more news about Titans vs Rebels closer to its premiere. TV Blackbox will definitely be tuning in, will you?

Short answer…NO
