Seven’s current affairs program is likely to create plenty of debate with this story.
The man at the centre of claims by Brittany Higgins will break his silence in an exclusive interview with current affairs program 7NEWS Spotlight.
Last year Bruce Lehrmann faced criminal charges and pleaded not guilty to sexual intercourse with Brittany Higgins, but did not take the stand to defend himself.
The trial was aborted after one juror acted inappropriately. A second trial did not go ahead after Prosecutors dropped charges against Lehrmann, saying a retrial would pose an “unnacceptable risk” to the health of Higgins.
The news of Luhrmann’s exclusive interview with Seven comes on the same day reports confirmed he has discontinued his defamation action against News Life Media and news.com.au’s national political editor Samantha Maiden.
Action against Network Ten, Lisa Wilkinson and the ABC is set to continue for the time being.
TV Blackbox understands the main interview was shot today with Liam Bartlett and there’s no doubt news of this interview will cause controversy.
7NEWS Spotlight is currently sitting in the prime time slot of 7pm Sundays after Seven’s Blow Up failed to find any traction with viewers. It was shifted over to 7Flix.
The short-term fix has proven to be a ratings win for the network though, with Spotlight winning the ratings battle against MasterChef and The Summit on Sunday night.
Yuk
Eeeeewwww
I wonder how much he was paid for it.
Sally Piracha see my comments.
He CHOSE to not “tell his side of the story” in court.
But now, with a Channel 7 makeover that includes removing glasses, shedding the suit and attempting to look defiantly moody with a dramatic voice-over reminiscent of MAFS he’s keen to speak?…
Vanessa Hawkins DON’T FORGET THE CASH , OVER $500 THOUSANDS .
And now the uninformed observer has a much better idea of who is pulling the strings. Another winner Kerry, just like BRS 😒
Is Lisa covering the current case ? 😬

It seems you can only give your side of the story if you are female, isn’t that right Abby & Molk?
