The Suncorp Super Netball competition is set to recognise and celebrate the profound contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to netball during the upcoming First Nations Round.
Kayo Sports has announced that all matches from rounds 11 and 12 will be streamed live and free on Kayo Freebies.
In an unprecedented move, the First Nations Round will be spread over two competition weekends, allowing each Club the opportunity to honour their indigenous communities in front of home supporters. Fox Sports and Kayo Sports are going the extra mile with coverage of each match featuring a Welcome to Country and special indigenous ceremonies, enriching the match-day experience.
Complementing the on-court celebrations, Fox Netball will commemorate First Nations Round off the field. A unique episode of Centre Circle airing on Thursday, 25 May will reveal teams’ First Nations-inspired dresses and artwork.
Additionally, The 4th Qtr will spotlight interviews with indigenous umpire Jordan Kiss and Sharon Finnan White, the first indigenous Diamonds player. Hannah Hollis of Fox Netball will wrap up the weekend’s events on Pivot on Sunday, 28 May, discussing player perspectives on their indigenous role models.
