Despite reports today that Nine is set to air a short Australian series of the iconic game show, no deal has been done.

The industry is abuzz today after a report in TV Tonight saying Nine has commissioned a six-part series of gameshow Jeopardy to be hosted by Stephen Fry.

According to the report:

The quiz will be filmed in the UK with Australian expat contestants.

Sources at Nine tell me contracts have not yet been signed but discussions are taking place.

It would seem the production company – Whisper North Limited – are pushing ahead expecting a deal to be signed soon.

If the short series does go ahead it will be filmed in Manchester in the UK.

  1. If the series does come to fruition, it would be an excellent programming choice for Nine. Its entertaining, educational, and timeless. Everyone can enjoy it, which is not something you can say about most programs these days.
