With Channel 10 unveiling the official new hosting line-up for The Project over the weekend, fans were quick to notice some key names missing from the list.

Popular comedian Tommy Little and regular panellist Steve Price both failed to score a mention in the official press release as the network unveiled it’s 2023 hosting line-up.

TV Blackbox understands that while Tommy Little is no longer an official cast member for the nightly news panel program, producers remain hopeful the popular comedian will still appear whenever his schedule allows.

TV Blackbox understands that Steve Price will return to The Project desk in 2023.

A spokesperson for the network telling this website;

“The Project team adore Tommy and look forward to working with him again in 2023.”

Little recently signed a contract extension with the HIT Network that will see him co-host the drive program alongside former The Project host Carrie Bickmore for the next four years.

The departure of Little comes as The Project faces a major reset after the loss of presenters Carrie Bickmore, Lisa Wilkinson and Peter Helliar.

2023 will see comics Sam Taunton and Michael Hing join the official cast working alongside presenters Waleed AlySarah HarrisHamish Macdonald, and Georgie Tunny.

Executive Producer of The Project, Chris Bendall, confirmed the new hosting line-up over the weekend stating:

“Both Sam and Michael have been part of The Project’s extended family for a while and I am rapt we have locked them down for big new roles.

Comedy is at the centre of what The Project does and given the news has never been more in need of a laugh, these two will make sure there is no better place to get your news and have fun while you do it.

  1. I can’t seriously believe they kept Steve Price and dropped Tommy Little. The problem with the Project was it had become a hour of forced jokes, promoting shows, books and the latest internet star with a rundown of the news. Constant use of really bad comedic presenters such as Cashman made me change the channel at times. Stsrt doing some more serious discussions and less scripted unfunny jokes.

    • I agree totally. I am if the understanding Steve Price is not coming back either. I just wish Tommy Little was staying. Mr Heng is just a terrible choice and should be off the show following his stupid comment about Prince Andrew. Very tasteless and I don’t understand why the panel laughed. Steve Price was at least a more mature person with a few more manners. Not overyone needs a youngish woke group.

  2. I’m only disappointed in Sam Taunton being a regular as he’s hardly on the show, and he’s not very amusing when he is. But the rest of the line up especially Michael Hing is excellent

  3. The main reason I stopped watching this show a few years ago is still there. Namely Waleed Aly. Doesn’t matter who else is on the show I refuse to watch it while he is there. Can’t stand him.

  4. I really enjoy Steve Price great to ser him back on The Project! Tommy little should have taken Peter Helliars position! Miss Peter already!

  5. Been watching the project since it first started. Im heart broken to see the old crew leave. Channel 10 has disappointed me so ill be switching channels. Love Sarah no disrespect to her.

  6. Stopped watching a long time ago. All very biased views. No two sides to any storey these days…. following ‘the agenda’ of lies and misinformation that is so typical of MSM… very judgemental programme. The first to go should have been Waleed. Certainly won’t be watching it now.

  7. It’s just too much boring and monotonous. Bla – Bla, and management is wondering why people keep changing the channel. It is very Bad.

  8. Most of it is BS anyway. Seems as long as u have white teeth and let your boobs hang out you’re in. How about employing people with something between their ears?

  9. Time to change and watch sometime else. Tommy little was fun and liked Steve Price as well. Always enjoyed Peter.

  10. Hope to watch the New Team with new intelligent topics of current issues in Australia and world wide . Don’t waste my time to listen to some ” Grandmother’s chit chat or sob stories. I loved Geopolitical issues , situations and problems.

  11. It’s exactly the same as what’s happening with studio 10! It’s a sinking ship no matter how many times you change captains, it’s never going to be popular again it’s run its time and course. Let it go you would probably right better with the Simpsons LOL

  12. Stopped watching it when Waleed joined the programme . Refused to go back when lefty Wilkinson got on the show , preaching her lies to the brainless left. Good riddance.

  13. Stopped watching a long time ago….mainly because I’m not a fan of Waleed or Lisa Wilkinson. One down…one to go. May start watching again as I love Sarah Harris but not a fan of “try too hard” Georgie Tunney.

  14. I have liked the project watch the replay later at night.Being hard of hearing the laughter seems to drown out some of commentary as captions are way behind, I love laughter and the humour refreshing, but lots of times I just have switch off. Good luck to the new crew in 2023..Wally you are very difficult to hear ,soft voice….I do wear hearing aids !!! Lorraine.

  15. The project used to be an enjoyable show in 2009 through to 2010, but the show started to become very unwatchable where presenters mock jokes about people in disasters, funeral events, and other tragic circumstances. At least they didn’t have former footy show stars Brendan Fevola, Dane Swan as the panellists on the project. Unfortunately, Channel Ten’s ratings have gone down the toilet since 2011 and have never recovered.
And look at the lineup right now. This is becoming very insufferable because of the panellists.

  16. Love the project. Sad to see the old crew go. I don’t mind Waleed but I see where everyone is coming from. Don’t want to get my hopes up for the show but who knows what could happen this season. The jokes off of devastating and sad events are really disappointing. I get they just try to bring a good mood to the show but come on…
    Good luck new crew!
