Channel 10’s decision last week to bump The Challenge Australia to a later timeslot and air double episodes has done no favours for the flailing reality competition series.

TV Blackbox can confirm that the remaining episodes for the first (and likely last) season of The Challenge Australia, hosted by sports commentator, singer and songwriter Brihony Dawson, can now be seen on the network’s multichannel 10 Shake from next week.

The decision to shaft the series to 10’s newest and lowest rated multichannel comes after the show debuted in it’s new Monday night timeslot with a double episode rating just 96,000 and 72,000 viewers (5 city metro) respectively – figures clearly unstainable to remain on the main channel.

Replacing the show on Monday nights on Channel 10 will be double episodes of the latest season of police procedural drama series FBI: Most Wanted.

For anyone still watching or following the series, the remaining 4 episodes will air on 10 Shake as follows:

Monday 5th December:

8:30pm – The Challenge Australia (ep 7)

9:30pm – The Challenge Australia (ep 8)

Monday 12th December:

8:30pm – The Challenge Australia (ep 9)

9:30pm – The Challenge Australia (ep 10) *Season Final

The recent developments come at a challenging time for the network, with a string of failed reality formats on their hands for the second half of the year which didn’t connect with viewers, executives will be scrambling for alternative formats to commission for 2023.

The Challenge Australia airs double episodes from Monday December 5th at 8:30pm on 10 Shake and 10 Play.

    • Hi Kryztof – I’m sure they’d love to, but they can’t – it’s a show their bosses have had them commit to.

  1. They were trying there hardest at 10 to push they or them on the general public as the newest star on TV, once more executives misjudging what the generaal viewing audiance wants

    • Hi Bernard – if you are referring to the host, they are not the problem. Absolutely the format and the cast are.

  2. Anyone with a brain wouldn’t watch such trash with those ferals – i mean really – get a real life channel 10.

  3. Dump all the rubbish. the Challenge,MAFs,Farmer wants a cook and cleaner, Bachelor, Bachelorette, Big Brother etc. Absolute vomit.
